Our Services

Workplace Health Assessments

We conduct workplace assessments using critical incident technique, interviews, surveys, and anonymized data. These assessments aim to enhance well-functioning workplaces and generate ideas for those facing challenges. Through interviews and surveys, we explore burnout, workload, psychological safety, cohesion, and other factors crucial for healthy organizations. Surveys provide an overview of employee health, while interviews offer qualitative insights. The information is anonymized, analyzed, and used to create a report outlining strengths, weaknesses, and improvement recommendations. Themes may align with organizational standards like the Canadian Standards Association. Reports are shared with sponsors and participants, fostering employee engagement. We collaborate with clients to develop actionable recommendations and provide workshops, retreats, and coaching to support organizational goals.

Workshops

Our comprehensive workshop offerings aim to enhance various aspects of employee and workplace well-being, covering conflict resolution, organizational change management, leadership skills, and effective feedback mechanisms. A key focus is placed on psychological safety, exploring core concepts, measurement techniques, and strategies for improvement. Addressing both typical conflicts and those involving "High Conflict Personalities," our workshops provide valuable insights and tools. In the realm of change management, we integrate organizational change and management processes to facilitate smoother transitions. Our feedback and performance management workshop equips participants with tools to manage both positive and constructive feedback effectively. Lastly, our decision-making workshop empowers individuals and organizations to design deliberate, inclusive decision-making processes, avoiding post-decision flaws for high-quality outcomes.

Book Summaries

We offer summaries of many key texts on conflict, leadership, negotiation, and team function to augment our coaching and leadership development. These short documents present the most important information in these books in an accessible and readable format. We also provide summaries upon clients’ request for personal use or as a foundation for a retreat, for example.

Leadership Assessments

Our leadership assessments use critical incident technique, an empirical and qualitative method. Participants, selected from a client-provided list, share positive and negative leadership experiences in their workplace through interviews. Anonymity is maintained, and interviewees can review and edit their records for accuracy. Combined interviews are analyzed for thematic patterns, focusing on leadership competencies without identifying details. The report offers recommendations to enhance strengths and address weaknesses, accompanied by workshops, individual training, and coaching for leader development. Unlike 360-style assessments, Critical Incident Technique provides precise and actionable insights into specific leadership behaviours.

Coaching

Our coaching aims to reduce occupational stress by providing evidence-based suggestions to improve professional relationships and team function, sharpening leaders’ ability to manage work conflicts, and uncovering emotions and cognitions that block courage. We work with clients to develop goals, and these goals inform the coaching, resulting in a responsive and dynamic learning process.

Organizational Design

We work with organizations to redesign governance and other critical institutional structures. This includes helping clients develop their values and criteria for change, ranking options based on their criteria, and making an informed decision about the best course of action. We also provide assistance in socializing and managing these changes within institutions, which is a critical success factor.
